Trade

Hopefully, you understand that “Exposure” is nothing but a trade. A trade between your services and an opportunity. It’s really up to you to decide what that opportunity is worth… to you.

Many times people offer trades that are more defined and simplistic. Being in Nashville, one common example is to trade one’s own skill set for someone else’s; a photographer trading services with recording studio; a guitar instructor trading lessons with a vocal instructor.

Other times people may have a product they either make or have access to that they want to trade; a speaker system in exchange for a music video. This all comes under the form of compensation. In fact, the government agrees. Technically, if one person is paid by another in the form of a good or service, that recipient is to value that item and pay taxes on it as income… Yep, you read that right. The government wants their piece of your alternative pie.
