Referrals

Being referred by people, regardless of trade, is one of the best forms of payment people can receive. At it’s core, business is simple. There must be a provider, and there must be a consumer. Whatever your job is, you are the provider. For your job to exist, someone must want what you are selling. Referrals are potentially those people. Feeding this machine is essential to the success of any business. 

While, this has been all about getting paid, it’s about more than that. It’s about how we conduct ourselves in business. When I see people make negative comments online like “You have to pay people appropriately for the work they do”, I do feel their frustration. However, ‘appropriate compensation’ is largely subjective, and these interactions make people appear to be ill-tempered and unprofessional.
